Can this unit be used outside in a covered area? null

Yes, it should be fine as long as it's protected from the elements

Technically no. I however am using one outside in a covered area and it works fantastically. I don't fill it completely full with food and I do bring it in at night so racoons don't try and steal it. But in the last month of use I have had no issues from having it outside.

as long as there is access to a power outlet. The unit needs to be plugged to use, not support battery-operated mode.
