Questioncan anyone really tell the difference between standard Blu-ray and ultra 4k Blu-ray seems to be a debate I was thinking about this player for my 4k LG TV but I was wondering if the price was worth the upgrade my tv does support HDR10 and Dolby...thanks

- Answer It depends on two things: screen size and distance from the screen. For screens under 65", you have to sit fairly close to the display to be able to really see the difference. From 70" up, it becomes far more noticeable. However: HDR is a different animal. Even with my 55" screen, 4K HDR is a vast improvement over 1080. I've noticed on both Amazon and Netflix with my Roku Ultra as the source that the image is fantastic. Since this player and your TV support HDR, I think it is worthwhile. I have not viewed an actual 4K Blu Ray with HDR on a TV, but it should be even better than the online sources.

- Answer Yes both the Philips and the Panasonic output 8, 10 and 12. The Samsung does NOT Support 10Bit HDR

- Answer Yes. I have LG 4k 55" TV (LG 55UH8500) and LG OLED 65" (OLED65B6P) TV. Player recognized it immediately.

- Answer Yes it does. I've check on my projector and this unit Outputs, 8, 10 and 12 bit. Picture quality is awesome!

- Answer Yes, but only if you set the player to Bitstream and connect it to an AV receiver that supports Dolby Atmos.

QuestionI put in the 4k disc of transformers and it shows the paramount frame then goes black and then back to home screen. And if you go to the player setting it shows it as a paused video.

- Answer Well, I don't see a question there, but I'd say damaged disk?? My Philips player has played everything I've given it ( although I haven't tried all formats, it even played a DVD burned on DVD-R). Is this the only disk that happens with?

QuestionI've been having a problem with this player. Only when playing 4K Blu ray discs, there will occasionally be a line running from the top to the bottom of the screen. Kind of like when the tracking was off on a vhs tape. Anyone else had this problem?

- Answer I would imagine it would, however, I paid the extra cost and upgraded to the Samsung UBD-K8500. In my opinion, it is by far the best 4K Blu Ray player on the market, including the Xbox One S.

QuestionCould this device play m2t or similar video files or JPEG files etc from portable heard drive? If so what is file size limit?

- Answer Until someone else chimes in I will state that my previous Sony 3D Blu-ray player played just about any format file via USB port backed up to portable hard drive. Some of those same M2t files play fine on this Philips BDP7501 player, some play without sound and the 3D files do not play at all. JPEG/picture files can be viewed fine. Here's the official playback info from the manual: "USB storage devices supporting USB2.0 / USB3.0 MP4, MPEG2, MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, JPEG, Picture-in-Picture commentary, subtitles or other extras for BD-ROM ver. 2 (Profile 2.0 / Profile 1.1)" The only reason I chose this player is that at this time it is one of the few that work with the Epson 5040ub projector in my budget. Until a firmware update I will have to play my files through the computer attached to home theater or hook the Sony back up as a media player.
