That's correct, you can only adjust the brightness not the color on the standard white lights.

White is white, no color Still can program them. I have my white lights setup on timers as I travel and I like the idea of the lights coming on when I am not home. And the timer can change the light brightness which I really like.

That's correct. Buying the color bulbs after the fact is fine. The white bulbs dim but they do you cannot adjust the "shade of white"
