Hue has 2 different types of bulbs; bridge optional(blue tooth) and bridge required. Bridge optional allows you to control your lights (up to 10)when you are within physical range. The bridge acts as the hub that allows control from anywhere and you can control up to 50 bulbs. Although the hub needs to be wired to a router, it works without internet as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The hub connects the lights to the phone. The lights will not connect directly to the phone. You can purschase another hub device if you do not want to use the phillips hub. You don't need the switch, but it comes in handy when you dont have your phone. You can't control the color. I recommend pairing the lights with a voice assistant.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to have the bridge if you want to control the lights from somewhere else. Meaning you leave town and forgot to turn them off. You can access them via the internet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need the bridge, because the bulbs are connected to the bridge and the bridge to your network, so the bridge is the connector between the bulbs and your Network. You don't need a special switch, just a regular for shut down the energy. The dimmer switch that come with the set, you can use for change five different colors, but you have to set up what colors you want in the app. and you can change the color push the button "on", one, two until five times, but that works just for a single bulb or a set of bulbs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless you use the Bluetooth feature and are pretty close, the hub allows you to control them via the internet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The bridge is what connects the light to the internet. Without the bridge they will not connect. Now one bridge will control up to 100 lights I believe.
