“Do I need a special light switch for this kit or can I use my standard light switch because I have a ceiling fan and I was wondering if because these light bulbs are different shape than my standard 60W bulbs if they would cause any safety issues?”

No special switch required, use the same switch.

You just leave the switch in the on position and then you control the lights with your phone or Amazon echo. The advantage of the echo is that you just have to tell Alexa to turn the lights on and off.
