I no they make a 100 watt equivalent, but you don't need a 40 watt a 60 watt will do just fine just dim them to any level you won't , that's what I like so much about these bulbs! I hope this helps. I searched the web they do make a 40 watt along with many other wattages ,color & sizes! [I dim mine to 10% at night in the living room]
