Please try again later.Yes you will need a Hue bridge and if you have to buy it get the newest but both will work ,then you will have to link it to your smarthing hub or you just use it individual too ,but if you have Alexa you will need to link them in order for Alexa to control them

The Philips Hue starter pack I purchased at Best Buy came with the bridge and 2 bulbs to start with. Each additional bulb you can purchase separately through Best Buy which I found cheaper then even Amazon.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recommend you get the Hue Bridge 2nd Generation as any Future Bulbs may not work with Hue Bridge 1st generation . I believe it does work with hue Bridge 1st gen but Not certain check at Hue web site www.meethue.com
