What size recessed light is best for these bulbs? Based on the diameter it seems like both 5" or 6" would work. Since I'm doing a remodel I can use either one. Any reason not to use the 5" cans? null

I would go with the 5 inch, we have 6 inch and you can see inside the can around the bulbs.

While my bulbs are installed in 6" cans, I see no reason they wouldn't work in 5" cans--there's well more than 1/2" clearance around the edges of the bulbs.

I have mostly 6" cans. The 5" will work also. Mostly personal preference.

I use the 5" can, but to be sure, I would check the measurements of the Br-30's diameter and appropriate size bulb for the can you might want to use.
