• No, you need the main controller to change the light color and brightness. Will just turn on white.

• The extensions do not have a power source. You need the starter lights which has the power plug to power main and all extensions attached

• The extension just make your strip longer as you want so you need one main light to connect with outlet to have it work

• You need the main light first to make the extensions work. Included with the first string of led strip is the power supply. The extension is just an extension the plug directly into the end of the led strip and does not plug into the power supply.
