You must first purchase a philips hue bridge. The lights communicate with the bridge so you need the bridge to control the lights through apps on your phone designed for use with philips hue. Furthermore, this item is a 1m extension for the philips hue lightstrip plus. Therefore, you must first purchase a lightstrip plus and only purchase this extension if you need to extend its length. It easily attaches to the extension.
