The light strip extender must be plugged in at the end of your current Hue lightstrip. If you look at it you will see a plug with pins at the end of the strip. The extension comes with no wall plug or anything to power it so it must be plugged into the end of an existing strip.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to get a strip plus for each room. The extender is just to extend the existing strip plus. However the extender doesn't come with the receiver or power cord needed to power it up so that is why you need a whole kit per location.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The extensions have to be connected to a full length lightstrip to work. They are passive and get their power from the main strip.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you need to attach the extension to an existing HUE light strip. It does not carry it's own controller or power source. It's really just a foot long extension.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The extenders have to be attached.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They need to attach. You can extend them if you are handy with a soldering iron though. I extended mine around my kitchen with 24 gauge cat 5 and a part matching the pin pitch of the connector from DigiKey.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It must be connected to the light strip you currently own. If that is not possible you will need to buy the kit with the power adapter that retails for around $90.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Has to be attached to the lightstrip plus (starter pack). Other wise there is no power and can't connect to wifi and control. Guess you could hack it. But then you would need a power supply and some kind of controller.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It have to be attached
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Must be attached. The power source is on the original LED strip.
