“Does the hue lightstrip plus stay continuasouly on I can’t turn it off from the app although the other functions are working is there an add on at the control box or something”

Go into your app and select the light strip itself. You can turn it off from there

You can also set them up to come on or go off at certain times or on a schedule. Wink, Harmony remotes, Alexa, and Google Home will also all integrate with this, so there are many additional ways to control them, either through a button or wall interface (like Wink Relay) or with your voice.
