• Yes to work on your TV, you need both the hub and the Sync Play box. It will only work with HDMI feed. You can use an Apple TV, Roku stick, FireTv etc. to get the benefit on the play box. It will not work with smart Tv apps, because they signal needs to be fed through the sync box to recognize the data. They however will work on a computer, with windows and MAC without the Play sync box. There is an app to download and will work with movies, gaming, music etc on your PC.

• No you do not need to, but changing the color is manual. I do not have the sync box yet. Not sure if I really need it.
