It’s a remote light switch for hue lights. You can use it without the bridge to control lights paired (connected) to the remote. If you use the bridge, you can also use the remote, for example for those times you don’t want to use the app or Alexa or google, and just want to push a button when you walk into the room (comes with a wall plate you can screw into the wall, the remote attaches to the plate using magnets).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is probably best to think of this as a remote control for Phillips Hue lighting. This Hue Dimmer Switch will only control Phillip Hue lights, it cannot be used as a regular light switch on normal light bulbs. If you do have Phillips Hue lights, then you can select which lights you want the Dimmer Switch to control. For example, if you have 2 Phillips Hue light bulbs and a lighting strip in a bedroom, then you can set this Dimmer Switch to control those specific lights together at the same time. In addition to the normal On/Off functionality, the Hue Dimmer Switch can have up to 5 "on" settings. Each time the "on" button is pressed the Dimmer Switch will cycle through whatever you have set the "on" settings or scenes to. For example, the first time the "on" button is pressed can be set to a nighttime dim mode, and the second time the "on" button is pressed can be set to a bright daytime scene. Each of the five possible scenes can also be dimmed or brightened by the two buttons in the middle as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is an electronic push button switch. It has on and off, bright and dim. Four places to push, I just stuck mine to wall beside original switch and you can slide off base to have at your seat.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It requires no wiring because it communicates on its own Hue network with the Hue bridge to control other lights on the network. So there’s no cutting into the wall.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only if you use it with the hue lighting system. The dimmer “talks” to the hue bridge to tell hue lights to behave as programmed. It will not control a standard light bulb (incandescent, cf or led)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Essentially yes it is also a dimmer too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and no. Yes, if you have Hue light bulbs installed it will control those bulbs that you specify. No, you can not just replace your current light switch with it.
I would recommend:
