It will not replace your current switch. Don’t attempt it. Because you will leave exposed wires. It is meant to be mounted next to it. Everything comes in the box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a stand alone. It comes with its own mounting plate. It does not replace your current light switch nor do I recommend that. It’s not hard wired. It has two sticky tape like prices on the back that will stick to your drywall. It is very sturdy. The actual remote is removable and it magnetised to the switch holder.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yous could stick it in the wall. You will have old manual switch on the side. You can also take out the switch, put both cables together and then put the hue dimmer to cover that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Now that I have purchased the item and installed it, I wanted to return and answer my own question for others... the mounting plate does have screw holes on the sides instead of top/bottom like a normal switch plate BUT they line up perfectly with the outsides of the electrical box and I was able to put some drywall screws between the box and the little bit of sheetrock on the sides. This along with the adhesive strips seems to be pretty secure and I've had no issues taking the remote on/off the magnets several times now. It is perfectly flat on the wall and matches the rest of our screwless leviton plates for other switches. A side note, usually code requires a physical switch to turn off lights in the room, so for this case I converted a 3-way switch to be a 2-way at one side and the hue switch on the other. We never use the switch on the other side anyways so it's all good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is not designed to be mounted over an existing junction box or switch. It can be mounted anywhere you like and the remote can be removed from the mounting plate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is not designed to cover the manual light switch unless you remove the switch itself altogether but, It can be mounted anywhere you like so its really easy and simple to install and use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven’t tried to replace an existing wall plate and switch with this one but it appears that you would not be able to use screws to do this. This is because the screw holes on this remote wall plate are on the left and right, unlike standard plates where the screws are on top and bottom. The plate does come with adhesive tape as well.. you could try that.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It just sticks on the wall. Easy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The switch/remote comes with a two piece plate that has screw holes and two sided tape. There is no wiring, so it is not a replacement for your existing switch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This unit mounts to any wall location.
