If you already have a bridge and your smart bulbs are configured thru that bridge, you can just add this to the same bridge. There is no need to buy a separate bridge/hub. I have eight smart bulbs at home, and all are connected to just one bridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you would have to buy the bridge. You can’t have a car without an engine. But I see why you would be confused. They do sell the bridge separately. Feel free to ask the nice people at Best Buy. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To work properly and to connect, you need the bridge. I have three and connected different ways and they are great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you will still need the bridge to connect the switch to the bulb
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use the hue bulb with this remote without using the bridge, but I’m guessing it won’t do exactly what you want. The bulb socket needs to always have the power on (your original switch on the wall). If the remote is paired to the bulb (bridge not used), you can use the remote to turn the bulb on and off, wherever the remote is within range (same room, definitely, two blocks down the street, no). If you use the original switch to turn off the power to the bulb, the remote won’t turn the bulb back on (it has no power). It’s like your TV - if you have a wall switch that turns power off at the outlet it’s plugged into, the remote won’t turn the TV on if the outlet is off. You can use the original switch to turn the bulb on and off, but when there is no power, the remote won’t turn it on. If you’re fine with using only the remote, then leave the wall switch on.
