Go into the Hue app => Settings => Accessory Setup. Click the plus symbol in the corner. Select which type of accessory you're trying to connect. Option 1 allows you to connect a switch that has never been used (or has been reset to factory settings). Option 2 lets you program a switch that you've already used on certain lights to work on a different light/lights/room. The LED on the Hue Switch should be blinking orange and when you select your option it should all sync up. Just follow the instructions on your device.

You must first open the Hue app you downloaded when you first purchased the light/bulbs. From there go to your Settings and select "Accessory setup" , then follow the instructions to link your remote/switch to your phone's Hue app. Once completed you're good to go!

You setup the switch in the app. Add the switch to the hub and then choose what lights you want them to control.

It's there to help link the remote to the app
The remote app should link automatically once the battery tab is pulled but if not use a small pin and push the setup button to link remote to app
