“How far from the dimmer switch can the remote be, and does it have to be in direct line of sight”

• It states in the instructions 36 feet from source of light. But I know it worked from the other room as it is a fun prank on people

• No, the switch just needs to be attached to the wireless network and programmed to match the appropriate Hue bulbs. As long as that criteria is met, could be placed in a completely different area and still function.
