absolutely not. Sleep apnea is a biomechanics obstruction to air flow; this supposedly manipulates brain waves, REM sleep and deep sleep brain function. I am an MD, but NOT a sleep specialist. Sleep lab assessment should determine your specific factors, and usually a pulmonary specialist or ENT/otolaryngologist will help analyze the results with regard to your best course of action.
