Yes, you will still get the typical grill marks. If you let it pre-heat as recommended it will cook just like a regular grill. See attached picture as an example.

Since it has one temperature you learn how not to to burn your food. There is no flame and since the grill is used inside its probably right next to you as your making the rest of the meal. That helps to keep track of the cooking unlike an outside grill.
