• No, you will simply need the base and the plastic plate to hold the toothbrush upright. You can leave the glass at home.

• It comes with a smaller "stand" like piece for charging as well. This is what I would recommend taking with you if you absolutely need to. However, the battery will last about 2-3 weeks with normal use twice a day. So unless you're traveling for extremely long periods of time, as long as you charge it fully before you leave I don't think you should even need the charger.
