It comes with a plastic base that can be used to store and charge the toothbrush. I don’t use my glass for either. I use it for rinsing and drinking. The travel case also charges the brush when plugged in.
This works without the cup! It comes with two options for the charger: the glass cup that sits on top of the charging base, as well as a regular stand so it stays upright. You can can swap them out and use whichever you prefer.
I also thought I would not like the glass cup idea for recharging either. But after using it, I found I really like it. the toothbrush needs recharging only about once a week to every 10 days, so I actually don't put it in the cup very often. A small base comes with it, that stands the toothbrush up after the normal use each day. But to answer your question, yes, there is a travel version that recharges the Phillips Sonicare toothbrush in the case. We liked the toothbrush so well, we actually bought the "travel version" for use on trips, while we use the one that goes into the glass cup on the recharging base at home.
There are several other versions and types of these Phillips brushes. With this particular one you don't have to use the cup, it also comes with a base charger that it sits in just like most others. The E series = base The 6100 series And all the series below the 6100 will have base charging. Hope this helps!!
I don’t think that there is another charger for this electric brush.
The glass goes on top of the charger. It also has an additional base if you do not like the glass
This model does not require the cup to charge.
This new model has the cup but may also be charged without the cup.
