“Does the upscaler work? Every time I change 4K upscale to "Auto" I lose my picture completely. Sound keeps working. I have the Vizio M-70 4K TV and I really wanted a receiver to help upscale my Comcast cable box. Anyone able to make the upscaler work?”

Try updating the software on the receiver. They mentioned this to me when I bought it that before the software patch it had this issue but I have the current update so I don't have the issue. Geek Squad should be able to tell you what to do to fix it.
