• Yes. You never have to match brand to brand. I'm still using a sony explode with this amp.

• You can combine different brands as long as you match the RMS watts and ohms with the sub. I have this amp and it works great for a 300 rms watts 12" inch sub. Don't forget to get the right gauge for this amount of power.
