“Will speaker wire without any connectors on the end work with this unit?”

• Yes you can and I did for a while. But the wire ends stick out very close to another part of the connector. I didn't like it at all and got some connectors on eBay and switched to them as soon as possible because otherwise I thought the wires might short out if they moved.
