This head unit is not high-powered. I would recommend using a separate amplifier if you are going to install 6 x 9 speakers. If you do use the head unit to power 6 x 9 speakers try to by the most efficient speakers you can find. That means low wattage maybe 25 to 40 Watts RMS to get the most out of both the head unit and the speakers. Just remember the higher wattage speakers are going to require more power and the typical head unit has around 20 watts RMS per Channel. Don't overload your donkey and it should give you many years of Dependable service.
