• It's not. When you checkout, it's an option to add the installation kit and the installation separately. You can get them individually or together. Depending on your needs, you may not need the installation kit, though. I bought one because it wouldn't allow all of my functionality without the kit (I wanted my steering wheel radio controls to keep working).
