“Does this unit allow me to see the rear view with a rear camera installed without actually being in Reverse gear? The phone rep said it will but I'd like to double check before I buy it. Thanks!”

this is completely contingent on how the backup camera is wired. if its going to the reverse light only, you wont be able to use it outside of reverse. utilizing the 12v accessory will allow use outside of reverse.

Also has a setting there to set up yellow/red lines for measuring distance. That’s the way Best Buy techs set it up for me, so yes this unit is capable of viewing without being in reverse.
