• I am answering the question for Pioneer DMH-1500NEX The receiver does not have a mute button. BUT as soon as you hit the plus/minus it brings up a pop up where you can mute the sound

• If you click once on either volume button a little screen will pop up and you tap mute easily! It’s a super nice feature I have to say and leaves less buttons more touch screen space having that included in the touchscreen!
