Both are mostly true. Your factory radio has many car functions and controls on the display, in addition to the stereo functions (climate control, for example). To install and use an aftermarket unit, you need to buy a new Chrysler wiring harness to connect these other functions. Best Buy can do it. The new harness is about $100.00. You will need a new mounting bracket as well. Stop in and talk with the Best Buy installers. They will tell you can and can’t be done, and how much it will cost. There are some cars where aftermarket units can’t be used at all.
