Is the faceplate detachable ? null

Yes, the faceplate is detachable.

I do not think it is removable. I have had the 8100, 7200 and now back to the 8200. Best yet. I had a hardware issue and had to exchange the system 3 times. Now it works great, sounds great. Enjoy!
