• This is an optical drive. It will read almost all CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays and write almost all writable optical disk formats as indicated in the specs. It is not however a "player" as it has no software for doing that. If your computer that you are plugging this drive into has the player software for the format you are trying to play then you should be set.
