Yes, the external USB drive will play DVD's from outside the US.

It can be changed to another region but can only be changed 5 times, then it is locked to the region set on the fifth change. I am buying a second one and will set it to region 2 and keep the first set to region 1. I have a large collection of region 1 and 2 DVDs. I used to use Anydvd with a lifetime license but they went out of business. The new company that took over are dropping the lifetime license and will require a payment of 40-50 EUROs each year to keep my software functional. There is no way can I justify the annual cost. So I will kiss them goodbye.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The drive allows for different regions. However, you can only change the region setting five times and that's it. So, by that I assume, your last setting will be the one you're "stuck" with. I haven't had the need to change the region so I'm only going by the information that comes with it.
