There is no 'best' subwoofer to pair with this receiver. The best subwoofer for you will depend on your room and what your needs are. Whatever subwoofer you get will most likely have it's own built in amp. This receiver will simply send the audio signal via the preamp out connection to the sub. This receiver has two discrete preamp out connections so you can have two independent subwoofers.

I tried several of their subwoofers a few years ago, always trading up until I found the sweet spot, and it was their 500 watt subwoofer. Perfect bass. No movie, including the newer Tron movie wouldn’t overpower it.
