“I am unfamiliar with what they are describing with the "cartridge." My last Pioneer turntable fell into a state of obsolescence when I could no longer find a NEEDLE for it. They stopped making them. Does this have one? Any idea as to what would wear out?”

It refers to the whole end where the needle is inserted.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This turntable uses an Audio-Technica cartridge and needle that is extremely common you will not have a problem finding a new needle for it or even upgrading this one. Needles these days last a lot longer than the ones made decades before.
