“I am unfamiliar with what they are describing with the "cartridge." My last Pioneer turntable fell into a state of obsolescence when I could no longer find a NEEDLE for it. They stopped making them. Does this have one? Any idea as to what would wear out?”

• It refers to the whole end where the needle is inserted.

• This turntable uses an Audio-Technica cartridge and needle that is extremely common you will not have a problem finding a new needle for it or even upgrading this one. Needles these days last a lot longer than the ones made decades before.
