I bought the Pioneer subwoofer for someone else and helped install it. It is connected to a Sony amplifier/receiver together with a pair of B&W speakers and works very well. I suggest making sure you are connecting it to the right outlet on the back of your amplifier and that you follow the subwoofer instructions regarding the controls on the back of the subwoofer. I hope this helps.

If so, you should be running a single "subwoofer type" rca wire from that "sub out" terminal on your receiver to the "line in" red and white inputs on the back of the Pioneer subwoofer. You may need a "Y adapter" rca with a single female on one end and a red and white male on the other end that plugs into the subwoofer. Turn on your subwoofer, making sure the tiny blue light is lit up on front of subwoofer.
