“Is the GPS independent or does it have to connect to my phone?”

• The description is the is has "built in nav". You don't need to use your phone. The GPS is a part of the package. The antenna for it is about 2 inch square and when I install radios I run the wire up through the car molding and stick it above the rear view mirror. I had Best Buy do my most recent install and with my convertible we just had them stick it to the top of the radio under the dash. It works just fine.
