Yes, I attached mine to a light stand and have used both the battery and the charger to light videos and images.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. This light has it's own battery and settings. Although it mounts on top like a flash, it is not controlled by the camera. It comes with a grip and a stand if you want to use it individually from camera. When mounted, I set up the light first, then I input that information into the camera.
