Will this work with the new iMac 24? null

This adapter works with most Mac computers that have a USB-C port.

i used it on my new iMac 24 and it worked for 1. a Logitech receiver (usb) in for my Logitech wireless keyboard with number pad. No configuring needed; it just 'worked'. 2. a WD Passport external drive to transfer files. Again it just worked; the Passport icon came up on the home screen and I could navigate to it and copy files from it.
