YES, WE HAD THE SAME CONCERN BEFORE PURCHASING AND ASK THE SAME QUESTION AND AN EMPLOYEE SAID YOU COULD PLAY ALL 2, 3 AND 4. WE HAVE PLAYED 3 GAMES AND PLAY STATION 4 GAMES.

Yes, you can access PS2 games from the PS Network and the system is backward compatible with PS3 discs.
