I have all my computer files on an external hard drive. I installed the Plustec software on my Windows desktop computer with no issues regarding my external hard drive. The day after I stalled the software, I scanned more than 500 photos. After every 50 scans, I was prompted to save the photos which I saved to a folder on my external drive. I have had the scanner for a little over a month, and I have had no issues with scanning, saving, or accessing any files.
