• If your laptop has USB-c then you will need a USB 3.1 to USB C adapter

• You can buy an adapter anywhere less than $10. Highly worth because you still get a very fast transfer speed. Hope this help.

• I don’t have a type c port but I don’t think you can plug the drive in without an adapter
