• I bought this for my imac and it brought it up to 24 gigs. If you too have a mac, just check the specs of what it’s max is.

• Hi there, Mac will see the new ram but may not configure it properly. remember that the paired slots are 1 & 3 and the other is 2 & 4. They don't go next to each other. If the ram is older, the 4GB ones, then its time for them to retire Hope this helps

• Yes. I had 2 slots with 4gb of ram and I added 8gb to each of the remaining 2 slots in my iMac. This gave me a total of 24gb of ram.
