QuestionIf I have 4 GB ram already installed and I buy this 8gb will it give me 12 gigs totalWith 2 expansion slots do they have to be the same size?

- Answer No they do not have to be the same size. It does help if they are the same speed though. The other thing to look at is how much RAM will your PC support. depending on how old it is some may only recognize 8GB of RAM.
