Flash Drive If a Flash Drive is inserted into a USB Port do programs and computer entries automatically back up to the Drive. If not, what is the procedure to back up to the Flash Drive.

No, they do not automatically back up. It depends on what kind of computer you have (i.e. Mac or PC), but essentially you would drag files to the thumb drive or, copy and paste those files into the thumb drive. Also, make sure you right click on the thumb drive and select eject, before removing it from the computer. Otherwise, you could corrupt your thumb drive.

Depends what your backing up.if it a computer. DVD or CD better. If computer crash . It not gonna read the USB por.. If its movies and music and program. Copy and paste. Now if your copying your hard drive you need a program called ghost. They sell at best buy. Copy your hard to any thing. I think it called ghosting. I hope that help

You need to setup the device as your Backup Storage Device

You can start your backup process and choose your jumpdrive as to the destination of your backup files. Depending on the number of additional items you have plugged into your computer it could be listed as E: drive or F: drive. Then click save button.

You can set Windows up to automatically backup to the flash drive at specified times ( the flash drive would have to be in place at the scheduled time) or you can backup manually from whatever program you are working in.

These flashdrives do NOT have the software for automatic back up. Go to My Computer and bring this drive up. Then copy the files you want by whatever copy method your computer uses. It's quick enough considering how much effort you do to create a document or take some photos or movies. If you want automatic back-up, buy a hard drive with the enclosed software. Good luck.

You plug in the flash drive and from your desktop choose the item(s) you want on the flash drive and drag them to the flash drive.
