Great Blu-Ray Burner
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great blu-ray burner. I like the look it's simple and to the point. I didn't install it in a computer tower; yet I put it in an "external 5.25 USB case". If you use any external case, you "must" use Vantec. No other cases come close in quality. The burner has a great laser in terms of how fast it "reads, scans, writes". Pioneer uses a great proprietary laser, I don't know if other brands are as good. LG may come in 2nd. Almost forgot, there is NO retail software to my knowledge that this comes with. Meaning, if you believe you can "watch" blu-ray through this kit, it may not happen. You may have to get your own 3rd party software.

Works well, quiet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I'm very happy with this blu ray burner and player. I haven't done much more than use it to read and install programs, but I did burn one archive disk already and the speed was great compared to previous generations of backup facilities.

Seems like a good BD Drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I'm satisfied with the performance of this BD drive from Pioneer. No problems reading anything I've put in it but I haven't burned any discs yet. I mainly bought it for reading BD's anyway. It is very quiet. I was really surprised when I found some Cyberlink Media software included with the drive since the description said it didn't include any. That was a plus in my book.

great burner but no cable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great price for a blue ray burner. Easy to install BUT it should have the necessary cable included. Required additional trip to purchase one. Very disappointing.

Exactly What I Needed For Win 8.1..
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Played Blu-ray Disc Great. The Cyberware download is full of Bells and Whistles. And, annoying ads for updates. Blu-ray 3D Capabilities is pretty cool.

GREAT WITH WINDOWS 8.1!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried a more expensive LG drive, it simply did not work with windows 8.1, I ordered this less expensive model, installed it and popped in a bluray and it was working like it should! I didnt have to update or install drivers, just perfect so far. Gonna watch Back to the Future right now!

Q: QuestionIn the title, this item says "no software".Does that mean that in order to burn a blue ray dvd that I will have to purchase additional software, or once I buy this item is it ready to burn blue rays?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer it came with software Cyber link despite what it said in catalog, the software is just another utility application to burn to the disk or to watch a movie, windows file explorer will allow you burn bluray data, I use Nero, to make your own blu ray movies you also need a second party software, I use Adobe Premiere and Encore, to watch bluray you need second party software I use cyber link Power dvd 14 but I think if you use windows media center you also need a plugin.
