• yes, your MBP boots from your password page to El Cap in 52sec with the factory HHD and boots in 13sec with this SSD. Everything improves that concerns hard drive processing even my youtube watching because of the writing speeds.

• Yes it will. It works on any SATA connector, and 2012 version is one of them . I got one for my 2011 MacBook Pro.

• This solid state drive is compatible. This SSD works with the Mac OS X, which the Macbook pro has.
