• Assuming you don’t care about your data, yes. It will be like the xbox is brand new, so keep that in mind. And obviously there’s a possibility of breaking your xbox when you pry it open. But yes, it is compatible, I’ve seen it done on an Xbox One S, but I think the older one could possibly do it as well.

• I don't believe so as doing this will void your Xbox's warranty. To reach the HDD in the Xbox One will require taking the console apart. This will work as a replacement drive on all PS4 models.
