• This drive will NOT make your laptop faster. This is NOT RAM, but storage for offline and online use. To notice any speed increase in your laptop, you would need to go to at LEAST 4GB of RAM in the laptop. The associates at Geek Squad will be able to assist you in this matter.

• No. This is for backup purposes only. You might try adding more RAM to speed it up, but ultimately your processor will determine overall speed in conjunction with a your hard drive. A 7200RPM drive will be faster than a 5400RPM one.
