Yes, it should work in a Dell 3888 Desktop. You asked if its compatible in a ddr4 system. The memory (RAM) is the ddr4 aspect and has nothing to do with the graphics card. The Graphics card memory (which is ddr5 in this graphics card)is typically higher than the RAM (we don't have ddr5 yet).
